All about Acrylic

  • When receiving your acrylic blanks they will have a protective film covering both exterior surfaces. This can appear to have a wood like texture, so feel free to peel a corner back to check the colour of your blank, before pressing back down onto the surface.

We recommend keeping this protective film on both surfaces until you are ready to use and display your items.

  • If you store acrylic in particularly hot environments, you will find the material could expand, bend or become warped. This commonly takes occurs when temperatures exceed 38 degrees Celsius. To avoid distorting your product while in storage we recommend storing inside, away from direct heat and sunlight.

  • Acrylic is extremely durable and strong. With strength comes the susceptibility to scratching. This is why we suggest leaving the protective film on your blanks, until they are ready for use.

Products you can use to effectively clean Acrylic include:

    • Lens Cleaner, like the ones provided with your order (Non-Solvent)

    • Warm Soapy Water

    • Isopropanol Alcohol (Not for Mirror)

    • Microfiber cloth and warm water used in a dabbing motion.

    • Soft Cloth like minky, squish or soft terry toweling.

Acrylic is a natural conductor of electricity. As static charge builds in the material, it can attract dust and other debris.

When cleaning or polishing your acrylic panels, we recommend the use of anti-static spray and a cloth to neutralise any static build-up in the material.

  • The best and most effective way to remove residue from vinyl decals on acrylic is to use a soft cotton ball and Isopropanol Alcohol (Not for Mirror). Lightly moisten the cotton ball and wipe over the residue on your acrylic.

  • If your acrylic scratches while using, these scratches can be buffed out with a soft cloth and a plastic polish to buff out the scratches.

  • Do not use the following on your acrylic products:

    • Acetone

    • Dry Clothes

    • Methylated spirits

These produces will discolour and distort acrylic and should be avoided at all times.

All about Plywood

  • When receiving your acrylic blanks they will have a protective film covering both exterior surfaces. This can appear to have a wood like texture, so feel free to peel a corner back to check the colour of your blank, before pressing back down onto the surface.

We recommend keeping this protective film on both surfaces until you are ready to use and display your items.

  • Plywood is best stored in dry environments, away from external environments. The use of moisture absorbing beads in proximity to plywood blanks can support the absorption of humidity in hotter environments.

Store plywood flat, rather than standing on its end, as this will avoid bowing and distortion while stored.

  • Plywood is a layered material, with multiple layers held together with adhesive and cross layered for strength.

Any water penetration can reduce the integrity of the adhesive and impact on it’s strength and longevity. The best way to clean Plywood products is:

    • vacuum

    • wipe with soft dry cloth

    • dust
